🚐 CAR RENTAL (ESSENTIAL)

Why You Need A Car

Essential for your stay: Arcenoyu is in beautiful rural countryside with no public transport connections. A car is not optional - it's necessary for:

  • Accessing the property (no bus service to the property)

  • Getting groceries and essentials (nearest supermarket 15 minutes away)

  • Exploring Asturias (beaches, mountains, authentic villages)

Important: If you cannot drive or rent a car, Arcenoyu may not be suitable for your travel needs. The rural location requires independent transportation.

🛣️ FINAL APPROACH TO ARCENOYU

The Last 12km on VV-11

Once you turn onto VV-11 from the A-8, you'll drive through some of Asturias' most beautiful countryside:

  • Rolling green hills dotted with traditional stone farmhouses

  • Ancient oak and chestnut forests

  • Grazing meadows with the occasional cow, donkey, or goat

Important Driving Notes:

⚠️ Drive slowly on narrow rural roads - you may encounter:

  • Cows crossing leisurely (they have right of way!)

  • Friendly donkeys who aren't in a hurry

  • The occasional goat with strong opinions about road sharing

  • Narrow sections where patience with oncoming traffic is appreciated

🐄 Local Etiquette: The cows walk themselves between the paddocks usually later in the afternoons. A gentle toot of the horn usually encourages livestock to move, but never rush them - this is their home too!
