Heating Guide - Casitas Arcenoyu

🌿 Part of your Asturias Vacations guest experience

← Back to your Arcenoyu Guide

Your traditional Asturian casita has individual heating controls that work brilliantly once you know the system. Here's how to stay cozy during your stay. If it is summer and you would like the heating on just let us know - we have a central control switch we keep off during summer.

How Your Heating Works

The Simple Version: You have a main thermostat plus individual radiators in each room. Think of it like a base temperature setting (the thermostat) plus room-by-room fine-tuning (the radiators).

Recommended Setup:

  • First open the radiators

  • Turn your main thermostat until it engages and leave it there

  • Use the individual radiators to adjust each room by opening the nozzle

  • Stone buildings take a bit longer to warm up but hold heat beautifully

Quick Troubleshooting

Still Cold After an Hour?

  • Turn the main thermosat up - double check with us it is turned on

  • Open the individual radiators fully

  • Give it time - stone buildings are slow to heat but stay warm longer

Too Hot?

  • Turn individual radiators down first

  • Turn the thermostat down

  • Open a window briefly for fresh air, then close it again

Energy Tips

Stone buildings are naturally efficient once warmed up. Heat the rooms you're using and close doors to unused spaces. The building will hold the warmth well.

Need Help? Give us a call if the heating isn't playing nice we had a new system install in 2025 and it should work efficiently!
