Our Story
Our story begins in Mallorca, where Debra and Bree first met and sparked a friendship that would change everything.
Both originally from Australia, between us we've traveled and worked across most continents in the world before discovering our true home in northern Spain.
Longing for the scent of rain…
new life and greenery after a particularly scorching Mallorcan summer we ventured north to Asturias for a holiday with our partners and kids—and immediately knew we'd found something extraordinary. While other regions of Spain bustled with crowds, Asturias offered the authentic experience we'd been searching for.
Even though we both have Spanish partners (Asturian/Santander), Asturias was different—it offered something more real and rustic, a place where we could genuinely belong. What started as a holiday became life-changing. Bree moved to Asturias first, with Debra following a couple of years later.
Recently established to pursue our passion for authentic travel, we've chosen Asturias as the perfect canvas. What began as a passion project has evolved into Asturias Vacations, where 30 years of 5-star hospitality experience meets a fresh perspective on northern Spain.
We're starting small with a personally selected collection of properties, ensuring each receives dedicated attention. Our commitment: to grow thoughtfully, one carefully chosen home at a time.

Debra Rissmann
Property Management Expert
Debra brings over 20 years of 5-star hospitality and tourism experience, including 6 years managing a 10-room property in Mallorca as an Airbnb Superhost. Her deep understanding of property management and international travel trends ensures every guest experience exceeds expectations, making her invaluable for anyone considering property investment in Asturias.
